Shenshen Blog Entry #5 posted # Dec 26 Fri 2008 17:20Let's write about gourmet food this time!
Japanese food's freshness and quality is well renown,
I cannot resist this kind of delicacy
The thing I get most excited about every trip is to try local delicacies
During this Japan trip, food alone murdered over half the capacity of my camera

Back on topic...
I simply love Japanese daifuku and curry bento (to tears)
Especially curry bento, it's a first class delicacy \((^O^))/

Let Shenshen show you some Japanese food I had!

Ebisu Kyousuzu
Let me introduce this restaurants appetizer - sashimi
Apologies to those that can't eat sashimi~

I have the least resistance to fresh sashimi
dip it in a bit of soy and sashimi
And eat it in one big bite, that feeling is just so satisfying
(Many were afraid of this appetizer, and pushed their plates to me. I finished four-five plates with no hesitation ~(≧▽≦) )

Shenshen's past impressions of dongpo's pork has been sweet, salty, and buttery flavor
The meat melts in your mouth
But the Japanese dongpo pork has a sweeter sauce, and the pork was slightly bitter
Shenshen is not quite used to it. 〒▽〒

The main course has arrived

Big props! This restaurants pork is the famous whey pork~ the pigs were fed with nutritious whey, try the pork slices without sauce, you can taste the milk when you chew it~!

↑Tada! It's the delicious tender whey pig~

↑It's kombu in the pot

↑ cutely arranged ingredients

If you haven't felt joy in a long time
Japanese desserts are just the thing!
Shenshen fell in love with daifuku in this trip
For dessert at Ebisu Kyousuzu, I ordered daifuku with now hesitation

Soft and chewy mochi skin wrapped around flavors of ice cream
And in traditional azuki bean flavor's center
Each bean is super huge and full o(≧v≦)o I loved it!

We also ordered azuki bean soup
There were lots of azuki beans in it
And Shenshen found that the soup isn't watery
But a thick azuki bean broth! And the beans were all whole
Having a bowl of this in cold weather is pure joy!

↑ Shenshen's favorite daifuku

↑The joy-filled azuki bean "chowder", sprinkled with rice crackers

By now, Shenshen should go eat now~
On the other hand, Taiwanese eats are my favorite too~ Haha! ≧▽≦y

If you have some good eats, you have to let me know ~
Next time, Shenshen will share more from Japan food journal~
LOVE YOU ALL!

Regards,
Happiness Manufacturing Factory Chief
