In the process of transcribing and translating 100+ entries. I came up with some basic methodologies to make the process a bit easier for me.
I just want to capture them in this label. So, sorry about being off-topic and self-indulgent. :P
Formatting
1. By-line contains author, entry #, original post date
2. Download pics and upload it to picasa and post picasa links. This way, we get the slide show and don't have to worry
3. keep links to the original emoticons (too many to keep straight) and even if it gets blocked, it's not a big deal.
4. resize emoticons so that they aren't too large as they interfere with page flow
DO:
1. Use a feed reader to help keep track of the posts to translate. Unfortunately, there is no one feed that covers all 7 blogs. I had to subscribe to 7 feeds... I also recommend you use a feed reader for this site, so you get all the latest updates
2. Try to begin labels with different letters of the alphabet, this way, you only need to type the first letter to get the label
DON'T:
1. try to keep posts in sequence by replacing the contents of older posts. blogspot creates post links based on the title of the posts, so when I changed the content for Reirei 9-12, now the links to those posts don't match the contents. Oh well, lesson learned
2. don't put the link of the original post into the title. Blogspot uses that for links, so if I override it with another link, then it becomes difficult to get post links, I had to get it from the post editing page, which readers would have no access to. So, I've now put it into the by-line
